Watermelon Run for the Fallen 2014

OME supports and participates with war veterans in honoring our Texas fallen from OIF I&II and OEF each year at a very solemn memorial event held in Hempstead, Texas, called the Watermelon Run for the Fallen.  This event is approved and supported by the Department of Defense, the United States Army, the Texas Army National Guard, the Army Reserve, the United States Navy, Headquarters Marine Corps, and the United States Air Force.  OME partners with the Watermelon Run for the Fallen each year and strongly supports this incomparable patriotic event.  This event was inspired by an American hero, SSG Jeffery Lee Hartley, who was KIA in Iraq 8 April 2008.

In this first photo below, Lone Star Freedom Flight out of Conroe, Texas, returned for a 4th annual performance at this year's Watermeon Run for the Fallen!  This is their Missing Man formation which honors and remembers those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country:
